Shanghai Electric Power Company of China has outlined a $9-billion investment plan following acquisition of shares and management control of Karachi Electric (K- Electric) – the power utility that supplies electricity to the country’s largest city  Karachi Sindh Pakistan .
The plan was unveiled in a high-level meeting of a committee constituted by the Cabinet Committee on Energy for deliberating on Karachi Electric’s share transfers.
Shanghai Electric, a state-owned company and a big name in China’s power industry, also shared its profile and international expertise. It is controlled by State Power Investment Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. Listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, it is mainly responsible for power supply to Shanghai.

While welcoming the planned investment, government officials Anouce underscored the need for Karachi Electric (K- Electric) to synchronise its investment plan for further developing infrastructure and generation facilities with the national endeavours aimed at minimising and eliminating load-shedding from the country by 2018.

ISLAMABAD (CPEC media Cell ): China Capital Beijing has pledged to finance three more road projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), making its total contribution to the corridor related road projects to Cost of Pakistani Rupees Rs1.125 Trillion so far.

Project Number 2 :China will provide in Future Expensive Rupees Rs107.86 billion as new loan for the three new projects. Pakistan National Highway Auth­ority (NHA) spokesman Kashif Zaman said to (CPEC Media) on Tuesday. It is already providing Rs 917 billons for another three road GWADAR projects.
The three new projects to be financed by China fall on the Western Route of the Chian Pakistan Economic Corridors (CPEC). They include a 281 Kilo Meter road from Baluchistan Town Raikot to Thakot at a cost of Rs 8 billons, 210 Kilo Meter (KM) dual carriageway from Twon Yarik to Zhob (Rs81 billons), and a 111 Kilo Meter road from  Town Basima to Khuzdar (Cost of Rupees Rs19.75billions).
An agreement will be signed between the two countries China and Pakistan in this regard in China Pakistan Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) Meeting to be Held on 30 December  (Friday) in China Capital Beijing. Federal Minister for Planning Pakistan ,and Development and Reform Muhammad Ahsan Iqbal, National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar and other senior government (CPEC) Officials have already left for China.

The spokesman told to (CPEC Media) Communications and the National Highway Authority (NHA) chief visited China Capital Beijing Last month where China agreed to finance the three projects as part of the second phase of Western  Phase the
China Pakistan Economic Corridors (CPEC).
He said the 145 Kilo Meter (KM) portion of the Town Raikot Thakot road has already been improved with Chinese grant while China has now agreed to pay $80.1 million Dollars (over Cost of Rupees Rs 8 billions ) for the remaining portion. “This is a new alignment which was damaged in the 2010 floods,” the Pakistan Official said to (CPEC Media).
As for Yarik Zhob dual carriageway, Pakistan Official said the National Engineering Services of Pakistan has already prepared a feasibility study, and China will provide Rupees Rs 80 Billions for it with completion time of Year 2020. The third project, the Town Basima Khuzdar road (N-31), will get Cost of Rupees Rs19.76bn.
During the upcoming China Pakistan Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC)  meeting, overall progress of the China Pakistan Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC)  would be reviewed. According to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform,  Ahsan Iqbal officials said to CPEC Media that both countries will meet a day before the China Pakistan Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC)  meeting to give final shape to the new agreements.
Mr Ahsan Iqbal, the he Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, would also hold meeting with the Pakistan embassy officials before the 30 December 2016 Friday meeting
